‘All power is within you, you can do anything and everything’- Swami Vivekananda with this motto in mind I wish to present the Annual School Report of the School for the Academic year 2023-24.Sadguru Public School is governed by Sri Bhuvanendra Education Trust which was established in 2012. The Annual Report showcases the achievements and glories of our school. We have always been committed to creating an environment in the school which helps the young minds to blossom and provide a platform for individual thinking and holistic development of the child’s personality. We set standards and goals for ourselves and strive to achieve them.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Sadguru Public School is spread on 6.5 acres of green campus away from the bustling city in a serene and peaceful atmosphere ideal for learning and the healthy growth of our kids. We follow the CBSE system of education. We have 32 classrooms which are all equipped with Smart Boards for learning and also a well- equipped library with a collection of over 4338 books in English, Hindi and Malayalam. The Labs for Science, Computer, Maths and Language have state-of-the-art facilities to make learning more innovative. Our Infrastructure also includes a Seminar Hall, an Auditorium, an Activity room, a Sports room, a Sick room, a Counselors’ room and a State level Swimming pool. 11 School Buses are plying to different locations for the convenience of the students.
STAFF
The Sadguru family consists of 42 trained and well experienced teachers. Our teachers are the pillars of the institution. Their dedication and motivation has improved the performance of the students since the inception of the school. We maintain a Teacher-Student ratio of 1:25. We also have 37 supporting staff which includes Office staff, Security, Bus drivers and Assistants who take very good care of the students.
ACADEMICS
Sadguru Public School is not just a place where children study and score marks. Our endeavor is to produce future Leaders, Visionaries and Compassionate human beings through our holistic value-based education system. Our curriculum is multi-disciplinary combining ethics and excellence in education.
The school strictly follows the CBSE Board and is always updated with the activities of the Board. The School Academic year is divided into two terms. Three periodic tests and Two term examination. Weightage in each of the subjects will be assessed based on Class tests, Classwork, Notebooks, Art Integrated projects, Enrichment activities and Discipline.
The Sixth Batch (2022-23) of Class X added another feather to our cap by securing 100% pass . H Pratham Kamath was the School topper with 490 / 500 (98%) the highest in Kasaragod district. and 14 of our students scored 90% and above.

On this occasion I would like to congratulate all the Class X students who came out with flying colours in their Board examination.The hard work of our students,efforts of our teachers, the confidence of our parents in us and the support of the Management added to the success.
Hobby Classes : Hobby classes in Karate, Skating, Dance and Keyboard are conducted every Friday as per the Child’s interest. We do not charge any fees from the students. This year onwards we have included Swimming in our regular timetable so that all the students will be able to master swimming.
Remedial teaching is also undertaken for the sake of academically weak students. Every day different subjects are handled from 4.00pm-5.00pm.
Regular Open House meetings are arranged to discuss the progress of the child and to get valuable suggestions for the betterment of the students. Every Tuesday the parents are given a chance to meet the teachers from 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm.
In order to reduce the Weight of the School bag most of the books are kept in the classrooms and sent back only when homework’s are given or during exams or on long holidays.
STAFF ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
In SPS all teachers are well equipped in their respective subjects. They keep updating themselves with the latest guidelines of the CBSE given from time to time. The teachers have attended compulsory 50 hours of training programmes both online and offline. Constant training programmes are held for them to stay updated with all types of modern teaching aids. Apart from this our teachers attended several other workshops and Capacity Building Programmes conducted by CBSE which were held in different parts of Kerala. –
- Soft Skill Development –A session on Soft Skill Development was conducted by Suresh Kumar Ramanatukara on 22.05.23.
- How to develop Team Spirit – A one-day workshop was conducted on the topic development of Team Spirit on 05.22at SPS by Sri Raghuram.
- Motivational class for Teachers was conducted by Mrs. Shifani Mujeeb , a motivational speaker and trainer on 24.05.23.
- What great teachers do differently – Sri Sathish Potti, Head of Devasowam Board College, Thalayalaparamb trained the teachers on how to make the 40 minutes of classroom teaching effective for the students. The teachers got an in-depth knowledge on how to motivate the students. It was conducted on 05.23
- Values and Cultural Ethics – A one day workshop was conducted on 26.05.23 by Brahmachari Ved Chaitanya from the Chinmaya Mission, Ernakulam on the topic inculcating Indian Culture and Values in our Children.
- Health and Wellness – The Academic Coordinator Mrs. Nisha Vijayakrishnan conducted a class on the topic Health and Wellness in schools on 10.23. She stressed on the role of teachers in imparting education to students on the different topics related to health.
- Our teachers also took part in the one day and two days Capacity Building workshops on Learning Outcomes and Pedagogies, Art Integrated learning, NEP, Adolescence, Active learning and subject specific classes. conducted by CBSE at M P International School Periyadka, Emin International School, Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Christ CMI Kanhangad.
- Prabhakaran Nair A M , State Vice President of Sri SatyaSai Seva Organisation conducted a session for the teachers on 08.08.23 on the topic ‘How to impart values in children’
- The Principal Amrutha Santhosh attended the two days Principal’s Conference at Kochi on 02.10.23.
- The KG teachers had undergone several orientation programmes based on the KG Curriculum conducted by various publishers from time to time.
STUDENT’S ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
We need to equip the students with empathy and knowledge, so this year especially we had arranged a number of Student Enrichment programmes to successfully channelize the halo of the young minds.
- Values and Ethics – A wonderful session on the importance of values and ethics in a student’s life was conducted byPrabhakaran Nair A M , State VicePresident of Sri SatyaSai Seva Organisation for classes VI – X .
- An Orientation Class was conducted on 13.23 for the students of Class IX & X on the topic ‘How to face exams successfully’ by Sri Sayed Haris , an International trainer and an expert in Stress management
- A Career Guidance class was conducted for the students of Class IX and X, along with their parents on Saturday,12.24. Renowned psychologist, Career Coach, and Motivator Sri Vijayakumar R conducted the session.
- The students of Class VI- VIII standard visited Anandashram for nature walk on 02.11.23, 12.11.23 & 22.11.23 and spent a day there getting a first-hand experience regarding the importance of planting trees. It was a wonderful experience for the students to learn to plant saplings. His holiness Swami Mukthanandaji blessed the students.
- The Subject Enrichment Programme for the students of class VI-X is being conducted in subjects Science and Mathematics to be competent enough to compete in various competitive examinations and to make them future ready . Every month assessment and evaluation is conducted to monitor their progress.
- The initiative that we started regarding the GK programme is continuing with good results. It has helped the students to improve their General Knowledge. A team of teachers give five questions daily from Monday-Friday for the students of class III-X as a home task and then in the class it is discussed the next day. It is showing positive results.We also conducted an Inter squad quiz competition on stage and the winners were recognized.
SCHOOL PROGRAMMES AND ACTIVITIES
Kindergarten Convocation : Kindergarten is the first step of the education ladder. Our Kids completed their Kindergarten education and their Convocation Ceremony was held on 28.03.23. Dr. Rajendra Pilangatta Prof. Central University of Kerala, Periya graced the occasion with his presence. He presented the students their graduation certificates. The tiny tots presented a variety of cultural events on the occasion.
Re-opening Day : Freshers Day was celebrated by lighting the lamp by the Principal Smt. Amrutha Santhosh on 01.06.23 accompanied by the Vice- Principal and the Academic Coordinator. Sadguru welcomed the newcomers with cherishing memories of the cartoon characters near the entrance of the school gate. Principal Smt. Amrutha Santhosh welcomed the students. The UKG students performed variety of dance programmes to welcome the newcomers.
Felicitation to Class X : The felicitation ceremony was organized to recognize and appreciate the students of the Class X batch of 2022-23 by the Principal and the Management on 03.06.23. The Chief Guest of the day Management Trustee Sri Gajanan Kamath , presented trophy to the topper H Pratham Kamath and to all the students who passed out with flying colours. The Manager Sri Akshay Kamath felicitated the function.
World Environment Day : The World Environment Day was observed on June 5th. The students were given pots and they planted decorative saplings to be kept outside their classrooms. Poster designing and Collage competitions were conducted for the students of class VI -X
Reading Week : The Reading Week was observed to honour the contributions of Sri P N Panickar to the cause of the Library movement in Kerala. The reading week from June 19 –June 24 was filled with a number of literary activities conducted by the English, Hindi and Malayalam departments. We could witness an active participation by the students and their hidden talents were exposed. The Reading week was inaugurated by Sri. E V Jayakrishnan on 19.06.23 , a renowned Journalist working in Mathrubhumi and a social worker.
International Yoga Day : Sadguru Public School has given utmost importance to the teaching of Yoga as we understand its benefits in molding our student’s mental and physical health. On the International Day of Yoga on 21.06.23 Dr. Vrinda Madhavan , an Ayurvedic Physician and Yoga Therapist gave a talk on the importance of meditation for the wellness of the students. Our students presented Mass Surya Namaskar and Rhythmic Yoga.
The International Day against Drug abuse and illicit trafficking – An awareness talk was conducted by the Chief Guest Sri Babu Thomas Sub Inspector Ambalathara on 26.06.23 Sri Biju George ASI & Sunil Kumar M Janamythri Beat officer were also present .The students and teachers took an Oath on the occasion.
Ramayana Month : To keep up with our regional culture and imbibe our tradition to our students, we observed the Ramayana Month with full devotion by chanting of the Ramayana every day for a month by the teachers and the students. The month was made appealing to the students by conducting various programmes like Ramayana quiz and recitation of the holy book. Our music teacher Smt. Prasanna Mohan recited the holy epic on the first day.
Gurupoornima: To pay reverence to our Gurus we observe Gurupoornima every year. On 03.07.23, the Students of Class X offered flowers to their teachers and seek their blessings. The Chief Guest Advocate T K Sudhakaran, a renowned writer, speaker and social worker addressed the students on the importance of Guru in their everyday life. The Principal Smt. Amrutha Santhosh addressed the students advising them to be respectful to their Gurus.
Our students participated in the Gyanotsav 1198 at the Central University on 07.07.23. Our students presented their innovative ideas for which they received certificate of appreciation from the Union School Education Minister Smt. Annpurna Devi.
District Level Yoga Championship was held on 08.07.23 at the Town hall , Kasaragod. 13 of our students participated in various age categories. Daksha C Kumar secured the second position and qualified for the state level championship.
Karkidakam Special Delicacies Food Fest was organized in connection with the Mathrubhumi Seed initiative on the importance of eating green leafy vegetables on 26.07.23
Class Library- A class library was inaugurated by the Principal, Smt. Amrutha Santhosh for class I-X to improve the reading habit among the students.
Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed on 26.07.23. The students of Class VI – X payed homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their life for our country and to those who are protecting us day and night in difficult terrains. The students had an interaction with Retd. Captain Sri Rajan C, who is also our Administrator. He interacted with the students and encouraged them to join the armed forces
The Kasaragod Sahodaya School Complex organized the felicitation ceremony for the Class X and XII toppers for the Academic year 2023-24 at St. Mary’s English Medium School, Palikkere, on 29.07.23. The Chief guest, Prof. M. N. Muhamedunni Alias Mustafa, Head of the Department of Education at the Central University of Kerala, presented the prizes. *It was a proud moment for SPS when Pratham Kamath, who scored 98% in the Class X Board Exam, also became the topper in the Kasaragod Sahodaya School Complex*. Additionally, three of our students, Pratham Kamath, Anamika Ashok, and Sreenanda, received prizes for scoring full marks in IT.
Independence Day : The 77th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic Fervor and gaiety. The Chief Guest was the Lt. Col. Ashok Kini H, SM, VSM (Retd) . He had a fruitful interaction with the students. The Principal Smt. Amrutha Santhosh unfurled the Tricolour flag, which was followed by the march-past, drill and a colourful Cultural programme including tableau and Patriotic by the students. Sri Gajanan Kamath, Management trustee gave the keynote address. The Social Science Department conducted Squad-wise Quiz competition based on the Independence struggle.
School Fest : The School Youth Fest UTSAV 2023-24 was conducted with all the zeal and enthusiasm among the students. The Fest was inaugurated by Sri P P Kunhikrishnan Master , Teacher & State Film Award winner on 23.08.23. The two day fest had various Competitions which were held Squad wise. The winners represented our school in the District level Sahodaya competitions held at Jayamatha English medium School, Kasaragod and Christ CMI School, Kanhangad. Our school won the second position in the CBSE District Sahodaya.
Onam Celebration : Onam was celebrated with cultural fervor. Various competitions were held for the students and payasam was also served
Teacher’s Day: On September 5th the students honoured the teachers and received their blessings followed by the chanting of Guru mantras in the morning assembly. The Class Xth students were given an opportunity to teach their juniors. In the afternoon the teachers and the students presented a variety of cultural programmes.
Red Cross Society : The Red Cross unit started in our school continues to grow with more and more students willing to do service activities .The Investiture ceremony of the new team was inaugurated by the Principal Smt. Amrutha Santhosh by presenting the Scarf and Badges to the students on 5.09.23
School Parliament Election : The School Parliament Election helps the students to develop skills in communication, leadership and decision making. Every year we conduct an authentic election process to elect the Head Boy, Head Girl and the other members to the School Parliament. Abhimanyu A J and Janavi M of Class X were elected as the Head Boy and Head Girl for the Academic year 2023-24. The Deputy Head Boy Haridev Vinayan, Deputy Head Girl Fathimath Safa ,Minister for Education Aagney Anoop, Deputy Minister for Education Poojitha Mepad , Minister for Health Sreelakshmi A Nair, Deputy Minister for Health Devanand V V , Minister for Arts Sreehari M K, Deputy Minister for Arts Lakshmi Narayan, Minister for Sports Mahadevan A V, Deputy Minister for Sports Ahammed Ridhan, Minister for Discipline Harinandan R Deputy Minister for Discipline Fathimath Ameena and Magazine Editor Rishit Praveen The Investiture ceremony to induct the new members to the School Parliament was organized in the assembly on 14.09.23. The Principal Smt. Amrutha Santhosh distributed the Sashes and Badges to the Ministers and they were sworn in by taking the Oath as Ministers in the school Parliament.
Gandhi Jayanti : To commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi , October 2nd our students from Class VI –IX participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign by cleaning the surrounding of the Janamaithri Police Station, Ambalathara. The Sub Inspector Sri Sumesh Babu and PRO Sri Manoj Kumar welcomed the students and thanked them for cleaning their premises. Refreshments were given by the Police to all the participants.
Grandparents Day: The Grandparent’s day was celebrated with due respect to all our grandparents on 10.10.23 making a memorable day for them. The KG students presented a colourful programme. Sri K Kunhiraman , Former MLA inaugurated the function. Smt. Gayathri Kamath was the Guest of Honour. A number of fun games were organized by the grandparents in which they participated enthusiastically.
The World Food Day was observed on 16.10.23 by conducting a class for the students of Class VI -IX on the topic ‘Good Eating Habits Among Children’. The Class was conducted by a renowned Ayurvedic practioner Dr. G K Seema.
The KIDS Fest was also conducted for the Kindergarten where all the students participated with enthusiasm. The Chief Guest Smt. Radha Sivakumar, an eminent Bharatnatyam and Kathakali artist inaugurated the fest on 28.10.23.
The Birth Anniversary of Sri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was observed as Rashtriya Ekta Divas . The Students conducted a unity march from SPS to Ambalathara.
Sports Day : The 9th Annual Sports day got off to a colourful start on 05.11.22. The Chief Guest was DYSP Mathew M A , Narcotic Cell, Kasaragod. The guest took the ceremonial Guard of Honour followed by the Sports Captain Mahadevan A V taking the Athletes’ oath and torching the flame. Competitions were held in various disciplines and prizes were given to the winners. The Sahyadri Squad won the overall sports championship.
Diwali Celebration : A squad wise rangoli competition was held on 10.11.23. The students made beautiful rangolis. The KG students also had various programs on this occasion.
Kerala Piravi : Kerala Piravi was celebrated with cultural programmes presented by the students. The different art forms of our state was presented by the High school students.
Nature Club – ‘SEED’ The nature club of our school consisting of the students of class VII came forward and made a vegetable garden provided us with the essential seeds and manure. Fresh vegetables were harvested by the students.
Children’s Day : On the occasion of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s Birthday on 14.11.23, the school celebrated Children’s Day with a colourful programme presented by the Kindergarten kids and the high school students. The assembly was conducted by the teachers.
NSS – The NSS club of our school organised a Health Check-up for the students from LKG- X on 18.10.23.The Health check-up was done by the Doctors from PN Panicker Ayurvedic College.
Sahodaya Fest: This year our students participated in the Kasaragod District Sahodaya competitions held at Christ CMI School, Kanhangad and Jayamatha English Medium School Kasaragod. Our school bagged the Second Position at the District level. The Students who brought laurels to our School are as follows:-

- Our students also took part in the District Roller Netted Ball Championship held on 24.09.2023 at St. Mary’s School Cherupanathady and secured the Third position. Rayan Prathap of Class VII B was selected to represent the district in the State level Championship.
Mathematics day: The Birth Anniversary of Sri Sreenivasan Ramanujan was celebrated on 22.12.23, the students presented a fashion show programmes of the different mathematical shapes, number dance and classical dance performance.
Christmas Celebration: Christmas celebration was marked with variety programmes by our students. Carols and Santa Claus added colour to the celebration. A beautiful cribb was also made by the staff at the entrance. The Chief Guest Father Lijo Thadathil , Capuchin Ashram delivered the Christmas message.
Excursion and Field Trips : Field trips are wonderful opportunities for the students to have experiences beyond the classrooms. The school organized excursion and field trips to various places for all the students. This year in the month of Novemberr the students of Class Lkg – II went to Chootad Beach Mattool Pet Station on 02.12.23.Class III -V to Kannur Snake Park, Science Park ,Milma, St’Anjelos Fort and Mattool Pet Station.VI -VII went on a two day trip to Mysore and Ooty on 06.12.23. Class IX and X had a three day trip to Kodiakanal, Ramakalmedu and Vagamon on15.11.23.

- There are CCTV cameras installed in the campus for providing our students a secure and safe environment.
- We also provide lunch for the students who need it.
Our office Staffs and Supporting Staffs also support our organization with their sincere hard work.
We are highly privileged to have highly enthusiastic and motivating parents who have shown unflinching faith in us.
Finally the most important part are our Students. They made all our efforts truly meaningful and rewarding by their significant effort to do their best in academics and extracurricular activities. We are proud of each one of them.
We assure you that we will encourage a child to observe, to explore, to experiment, to probe, to analyze, to confront problems and find the solution and finally to develop the skills to face the future. Praying for the blessings of the Almighty to enable us to continue the tradition of excellence in all our pursuits.
The Academic year 2023-24 has been a year of several achievements in spite of two years online classes. Many milestones have been achieved and many still have to be reached.
We will continue our unceasing effort to mold the young minds into well balanced personalities with confidence and zeal befitting the standard of education.
